Dubai is a city that is constantly under construction. I think I heard that more than 50% of the world’s cranes are here in Dubai. The recent economic bubble burst has definitely had its effect on Dubai. I noticed it was quite empty everywhere I went and that actually makes for a pleasant trip for me. There are a lot of Vegas like qualities in Dubai. Afterall, it’s also a city created out of the desert. It’s a big tourist attraction so people who come here are often on a mission to splurge. But because there is so much construction, and the desert winds making it very dusty, it’s best to see the magnitude of Dubai from above…

This is a glimpse of The World islands. Each small lump of sand is supposed to represent a different region of the world. And each goes for about $5-15million depending on size. About 60% of The World has been sold yet only ONE person has actually built anything on it. Times are definitely tough.

Witness The Burj Dubai Tower…the tallest building in world. It’s set to open this December. How crazy is this building! Just to give you some scale…those buildings next to it are a good 30-50 stories tall. This looks like something from a video game. このBurj Dubai Tower．．．世界で一番高いビルを見てください。12月にオープン予定です。このビルはヤバイ！分かりやすく言うと．．．隣にあるビルは30階から50階建てです。ビデオゲームに出てくるようなビルです。

The building is so tall, construction worker’s walkie talkie signals wouldn’t reach. And basically they put a high speed train on the side of the building
as an elevator. Too much too much.
