Staple Spring 2012 is upon us. And this season, we take you to Sunday School. In fact, we looked at all schools of theology as inspiration for this collection. This is just Delivery 1. Much more to come. So don’t be mad if your spiritual leader of choice hasn’t shown up yet! More goodness to come…
First off, we have a brand new t-shirt body that is SICK. 100% super soft combed cotton (204gsm). Double reinforced back neck yoke, side seam construction, inside printed label (no itchy neck!), an interior woven label and a new classic fit. Every tee also comes with a custom hangtag featuring a Good Wood Pigeon Pin. It all comes packaged in a custom ziplock mylar printed bag that you can reuse.

Who is that Daniel guy? Anyways, this season is by far the best I’ve seen from anyone who designs. You guys had a lot of balls to pull off this collection, which I LOVE! It’s about time we go after our religious brethren because it’s time to realize that the scam is on them now! Can you make a “Tremble” T just for Daniel? Please do, please do!
What a line-up. Gutsy & insightful. Great art creates debate and conversation. I believe people will be talking about this season of Staple for some time. This is what streetwear should aspire to.
I do agree with Joe, but I must say being a non-religious Christ follower myself…be careful in witch the path you tred ther is a fine line between being bold and blasphemous. I admire the craft of staple and the quality of work being an aspiring designer myself. This does make me question the motive of these designs leaving a negative gut feeling. It’s funny, when shots are being fired at religion Christianity is the first up lol never fails, not implying that was the motive here. God is real, you can’t deny that.
The Gospel sounds look foolishness to those perishing…absolutely nothing to do with religion at all but a relationship with Christ. If you cant see my brother I understand a few years ago I didnt see it. I was ‘dead’ in my sins and transgressions. Now I am ‘alive’—-good ethics and morals wont get you to Heaven. You cant earn it. Your ‘life resume’ of good deeds cannot supercede a perfect and holy standard that GOD is Josh—it is like spraying cologne on a corspe. Thats why we need JESUS. Religion is corrupt always has been always will be. Thats why Christ came in the first place…dig?
Wow. The first shirt I felt good about because it had Mark 8:36 in the stitching but then I kept scrolling… glad I read the comments too. As a believer, I’ve always noticed that Christianity is always the front line of disrespect of religion, as Reggie stated before. I have a sense of humor and style but when it comes to someone you love, you know when the line of blatant disrespect is being crossed. Even for people who aren’t “religious”, I’m not either, but you wouldn’t flip out if someone thought a shirt with a picture of your mom’s face on a slut’s body being sexually disrespected was okay, right? Well, I love Jesus more than my own mother…

I like the designs very much. But All I see is white. My wardrobe is exploding of white tees. Throw some goddamn colours in there!
It is a bit of a religious stretch but as long as you recognize the symbolic nature, im alright. But the “Crown of Thorns” hat is dope… Miss me with errthing else. #peace
i think its gutsy and bold but i think one or two of the designs are slightly disrespectful. I also recognised that staples didnt have a picture of allah or muhammad (pbuh), because if they did the consequences would be life threatning. In conclusion i feel there are some cheap shots at christianity and some disrespectful images of the christ (or the image that represents him – ie, jesus in a suicide bomber vest).. anyway youve done it now.. god speed…
Came looking for the Stained Glass Pigeon tee. It’s a great design but one or two of the others cross a line. There is a way to make art that challenges peoples viewpoints without being unnecessarily disrespectful. I feel like the Christ wearing a suicide vest is a low blow and doesn’t even really make sense. If you are going to push the limits at least have the balls to go all the way and make it you know who. Could have even just made it a bomb vest on an “invisible holy person” and relied on imaginations (although still think that would be wrong considering how offensive it would be to Muslims). Anyways I just think there is a difference between art that creates a productive conversation and pseudo-art that is really just being unnecessarily provocative and offensive while hiding under the veil of cultural creativity.
