I’ve never seen a live hockey match, but I’ve been assured that watching ice hockey is one of those sports that is a much greater spectacle in person. TV just can’t do it justice, even with HD.
I love that the NHL has brought back an annual open air Winter Classic, showcasing their sport in its ‘natural’ environment. For most hockey nuts, their love of the game was born outdoors, banging and crashing into other kids on some frozen pond or lake in the dead of winter.
The latest installment was in Philadelphia – not exactly a frozen pond, but an impressive place to slap the puck around nonetheless.
