This past summer, me and my team from Staple spent a few sessions with the students from Harlem Children’s Zone. The idea was for Reed Space to host its first ever t-shirt design contest featuring students from the HCZ! I spent a few hours each day talking to them about every aspect of the business…from concept to design to printing to sales and even pitching.
After we worked on the design process with them, the students then had to present their final designs not only to me, but to my esteemed buddies; DJ CLARK KENT, TALIB KWELI and MISS INFO. We were able to give our two cents and they were able to make final tweaks. Now the judging goes to YOU.
For two weeks, you, the public viewers, can vote on your favorite student design RIGHT HERE. The design with the most votes will then be produced and available for purchase in-store and online at Reed Space. The winning student will receive profits from the sale of the tee as the grand prize. From Harlemworld to Yourworld. Dope.

Awesome concept. It’s good seeing you guys give back to the community, especially the youth. They are the voice of creativity in 5-10 years. It’s best to influence and inspire them NOW, as early as possible. They need to step up and understand that dreams don’t only occur while they sleep, crazy shit happens on the daily… and you guys are a perfect example.
It’s a win/win.. you give them respect.. once they make it big they won’t forget it
One love Reed spacers!
