If you’re in Hawaii this coming Saturday you might want to check out the Aaron De La Cruz show at Loft in Space. He makes patterns that just absorb your attention, they make you follow as if you were maneuvering a labyrinth.
“Long Walk Home” is a look into the past, present, and future work of artist Aaron De La Cruz. The show focuses on his reactions to his surroundings and creative growth. During his childhood, Aaron would spend countless hours writing on every square inch that he could get his hands on and this inevitably included the walls of his bedroom. In this exhibition he decided to recreate the bedroom that he grew up in. It was both a sanctuary of memories and experiences that became the launching pad for a child’s journey – from his daydreams to the artist he is now.
The opening night of “Long Walk Home” will take place on Saturday, October 15th, 2011 at Loft in Space between 6pm and 10pm. Show runs till November 11th, 2011.
