DJ SOULSCAPE IN NEW YORK.

Since picking up his first set of turntables as a teenager, Min Jun Park, aka DJ Soulscape, has actively pursued the art of turntablism, and musical production, all while amassing an incredible collection of vinyl records. His first solo project, 180g Beats (2001), was released when he was merely 21 years old, and has been hailed as one of the 100 greatest albums in modern Korean music history.

After following up with a series of acclaimed mixtapes, and providing beats for both hip-hop and pop acts, his vast knowledge of music has led him to work with mainstream corporate conglomerates like CJ Entertainment and Shinsegae Department Store Franchise, as well as doing scores for Korean films such as The Aggressives. His most recent endeavors included the much-lauded The Sound of Seoul and More Sound of Seoul projects. Along with an experimental single comprised of samples drawn from traditional Korean medleys known as “The Theme for the Han River,” he wishes to complete an album entirely constructed upon Korean samples.

Soulscape has recently been featured in the NY Times and was tabbed for Vice and Intel’s The Creator’s Project. Check out a snippet from The Sound Of Seoul below.
