Meet Mr. James Jean. I was fortunate enough to sit down with him in his studio in LA and conduct this very special “1-2-1″.
We will be hosting a signing session at Reed Space 10/23/11 from 5pm-7pm for his new book, REBUS.
Please come and join!

He definitely has some good points when speaking of technology and the stereotypes around it. Most fine art students at our school would look down on designers, saying we cant sketch and are afraid of raw mediums… but that’s not true at all. I remember losing myself on pages and pages, 10-15 hours pen sketching at a time, but now i’m mainly digital. I see it as another medium, like writing poerty vs typing poetry… in the end love for the arts is all that matters.. everything else is secondary.
Like everything else in our lives, being disconnected with current techs/trends for a microsecond can leave us falling off the map, and that’s the reality of technology and human beings. Sad in a way, but it also presents us with new doors that can seem real scary to open. Adventure on, and nice vid! Practice makes perfect, and you clearly see it in this video!
