Downtown NYC art scene legend Patti Astor, co-founder of Fun Gallery and Cincinnati native (shout out to my hometown) curated the 3 Kings show, which opened at Saturday night at Shepard Fairey’s gallery, Subliminal Projects. 3 Kings featured mostly contemporary and some archival work of Graffiti-Gods Futura 2000, Fab 5 Freddy and Lee Quinones, artists who need no introduction. All three artists were prominently featured in MOCA’s Art in the Streets show and MOCA’s director, Jeff Deitch, was on hand to see the work, exclusively released for this show.
DJ Diabetic was at the turntables as Hollywood elite, NYC’s sons and daughters, art aficionados and the 4’and under crowd enjoyed the work of the three kings, temporarily filling the void that exists since the Art in the Streets show came down.
