1-2-1 w/NECKFACE.

Neck Face videos have been sprouting up recently for his new show at The LA Museum of Contemporary Art. This young artist definitely brings out the “love him” or “hate him” debate in people. A few months ago, when we did our work with REDU (the public education awareness initiative), I deliberately sought out Neck Face. It was important that I got to hear both sides of the educational story. I didn’t want to just hear from people who loved their school and loved their teachers. That’s not the reality of education. The reality of today’s education is that we are producing overcrowded classrooms in underfunded schools. This is the REALITY that kids today have to grapple with. There is little to no choice for them. Watch “Waiting For Superman” and you’ll see the harsh reality of that. You can argue that Neck Face is a product of this system. Love him or hate him, he has bettered himself. He has taken his craft and used it to get to places where a teacher, a principal and a regimented curriculum could not. This is a side of Neck Face you rarely get to see. I want to thank him for his time and openness with this special 1-2-1.
