ROCK N’ ROLL FRIDAY

It’s the end of the day for me here in Berlin, but a few more hours to go for you North Americans. Maybe this will help you get through your day!

Remember the Plasmatics? Or Wendy O. Williams? No? Well, me neither because I was just a baby when she was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance category. She later came to be known as “Queen of Punk”, “Queen of Shock Rock”, “Dominatrix of the Decibels”, and “High Priestess of Metal”, and her instruments listed includes: vocals, sax, chainsaw, sledgehammer. Amazing. Thanks to Mr. Errolson of Acronym, my vernacular in Rock-and-or-Roll history just got a little wider. There were a lot of things I feel like I missed out on during my youthful years(because I grew up in the woods of the Great Canadian Pacific North-West), punk or rock music being one of those things. But in someways I’m  also kind of glad I did because I would probably not be the person I am today???

This is The Plasmatics performing “Butcher Baby”. Please do note her guitar “solo” 1:45 into the video.

RIP W.O.W! Thanks for being incredible. Happy Friday everybody!
