This is a grooming collection I discovered a while back and as I stare at it every morning in the shower, I started thinking about the genius of it. I don’t consider myself a “tool guy” (i.e., Craftsman, Black & Decker, etc) but I can see how this brand Ace, can really resonate with dudes. Especially dudes who do not ever want to be labeled as metrosexuals. They design their grooming tools to look like shop tools…same look and feel as your favorite power drill. So guys don’t feel so bad about choosing grooming tweezers and nail buffers in the local drugstore.

Tweezers

Shower Detailer in the guise of a car wash sponge.

Nail Clipper looking like a vice grip.

Tweezer Set looking like they can break you out of jail.

I think my favorite one is the Shaving Mirror for the shower. You pour water into a reservoir in the back of the mirror and the warm water prevents the mirror from fogging up. A little spout at the bottom allows the water to drop out. Genius.

Damn, those finger nail clippers are dope…i wish i could find a place to buy them
Stuff is mad fly. About time someone gave some design thought to these kinds of traditionally “chick things”.
However the scrubber thing looks to be AXE not Ace. AXE always comes across as a little corny to me for some reason. Maybe you included it as a nod to other folks doing the same thing. Funny how the colors and logos are so close. I wonder if one took design clues from the other. Any kind of knurling on a handle etc. giving that industrial look gets the nod, though.
They need better PR to get the word out about their product too. Seems to me they have the distribution channels (via the old school comb) to be everywhere as a low-cost, high cool factor set of tools and yet this is the first I have seen them anywhere. Have to make someone feel like they need a new set of tweezers/clippers.
Cool tools. Very stylish.
