SYDNEY.

Speaking at Buffet was my second visit to Melbourne. But I had never been to Sydney. So there was no way I was going to fly 30 hours and not visit this time. There’s a lot of competitive beefing between MelB and Sydney. Kinda like NY and LA. And to be honest, both cities are completely different. I might have to give the slight upper hand to Melbourne, but I think it’s because I come from NYC. MelB is totally different than New York, whereas Sydney is sort of a big city with the added bonus of some of the best beach and coastlines in the world.
Buffetでの講演はメルボルンへの二回目の旅で、それまではシドニーには訪れたことがありませんでした。だから今回、30時間も旅をして見ずに帰るわけには行かなかったのです。メルボルンとシドニーは競争心むき出しのビーフがあるようです。ニューヨークとロスのように。でも、正直、二つの都市はまったく違います。僕はニューヨーク出身なのでメルボルンに軍配をあげるかもしれません。メルボルンはニューヨークとはまったく異なりますが、シドニーはある程度大きな街で、世界に誇るビーチやコーストラインがプラスされたくらいです。

One of my main goals was to CLIMB this bridge! Yes that’s the famed Sydney Harbor Bridge and they offer a thing called the Harbor Bridge Climb. It’s kind of a touristy thing to do, but it is damn impressive and worth every cent of the fairly expensive entrance fee of US$200. 僕のもう一つの目標はこの橋を登ることでした！そう、これがかの有名なSydney Harbor橋でHarbor Bridge Climbというものがあります。ちょっと観光客向けのアトラクションですが、とてもすばらしく、US$200という結構高い入場料の価値はありました。

The operation they have is impressive. It’s a fairly complicated affair to take novice (maybe even completely out of shape) people to hike 1700 steps outside on a very windy bridge. It involves changing into a suit that camouflages you with the bridge so as to not distract the drivers below. There’s a tutorial on how to properly climb. And you’re literally attached to the bridge via a cabling system the entire time. The worst part is that you can’t bring a camera with you. They say it’s for safety, but I think it’s so they try and get you to buy the photos they take for you for US$30 a pop. Ripoff!! So this was the last photo I was able to take before they confiscated everything. (They make you stand on these specially-placed dots…) とても圧倒されました。強風が吹く橋の1700段ハイキングに初心者（もしくは、まったく体力のない人）を無事同行させるのはかなりの大事です。橋を渡る車のドライバーの注意を散らさないように、最初に橋と同系色の作業着に着替えさせられます。正しい登り方の指導時間もあります。そして、ケーブルによってずっと橋と繋がれています。残念だったのは、カメラが持っていけなかった事です。安全の為、と言われましたが、ただ単に上で撮られるUS$30の写真を買わせるためだと思います。ぼったくり！だから、これがすべて没収される前の最後の写真です。（この特別に配置された丸に立たされて．．．）

The infamous Syndey beach is Bondi, but I decided to opt for the locals beach called Manly. Glad I did. It was stunning. シドニーの有名なビーチはBondiですが、僕は地元の人がよく行くManlyビーチに行くことにしました。良かったです。とても美しかった。
