John’s recent Playboy interview has been making the headlines as of late. I thought this tweet he sent from 12/6/09 made for a fitting Tweet of the Week. My thoughts on what happened are torn. On the one hand, I think some of the things he said were pretty stupid. On the other hand, I know that you can never really understand what it’s like to live in someone else’s shoes. On the third hand, imagine what it must be like if every time you said something stupid, it makes it onto CNN. On the fourth hand, if you choose to live life publicly as a celebrity, you gotta take the good with the bad. Ah well…c’est la vie.
Johnのプレイボーイ誌とのインタビューがヘッドラインになっています。2009年12月6日に彼がTweetした事が今週のTweet of the Weekにぴったりだと思いました。実際起きたことを振り返ると、僕の中でも考えがまとまりません。一方で、彼は結構バカな発言をしたと思う。もう一方では、実際に他人の立場を本当に理解することは困難である。でも、もう一方では、何かアホな発言をするたびにニュースになる人の身にもなれるか。でも、さらにもう一方では、有名人として生きると決めたなら、良くも悪くも人目にさらされる事を承知しなければならない。まぁ、それが人生。
私たちは個性を禁じる社会に生きている。その為、私たちは私たちの親ではなく、親の親になって（時代を逆戻りして）しまっている。

Not everything a celebrity says makes it public. If he’s hanging with his friends and says that it won’t make it public.
If Playboy or any other magazine/tv show interviewed me I’d know not to say anything stupid.
