TOKYO 1.

I had to take one last pilgrimage to Tokyo before the year ended. At first, I was a bit dreading to take this trip because of the rest of the end of year madness that occurs. But as usual, I am ALWAYS glad to make time for Japan. I always hear people saying “they will one day go to Japan.” No, you NEED to go. Like yesterday. Here’s some eye candy for now…

This is great. It’s Jewelz! No… It’s the “ish”! No… It’s Jewish! No… IT’S JEWELISH!!! YES!!!
Jewelz!

I’ve eaten some scary ass shit…but this always gets me. Completely raw chicken sashimi. Yikes.

A classic example of Japanese service and courtesy. Eating at this beef specialty spot, they use 2 spatulas to block any grease that may splash on you.

jpncourtesy2
Japanese love to smoke. Even when they stand there and pee. Hence, this little shelf was absolutely necessary in the construction of this bathroom.

The urinal-side stand is a necessary anywhere you are. There’s no telling when you’ll need a place to steady yourself or drop your drink so you can take it all in.

After seeing some of the things you’ve posted regarding Japan, I’m convinced that I should go next year. D’you have any travel tips (minimum number of days, airlines, places to check out, that kind of thing) for someone losing their Japan V-card. I’m sure you have alil bit more access than most, but I’m also sure that you could offer more interesting insight than the standard travel guides. Your loyal readers thank you.

First time? I say go 10-14 days. Go to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto if you can.
I always take American Airlines. Best idea? Join an airline and stick with them. A round trip to Japan will get you halfway to a free trip.
