Florence wasn’t just all fun and games. We actually had some work to do! Pitti Uomo is one of the menswear markets earliest and most influential shows. This was the first for me to attend. I was not showing Staple, but rather, finding new brands for Reed Space to carry and also checking out the scene to see if it might be a possibility for Staple in the future. I was a little underwhelmed. I think after all these years of seeing the fashion magazines cover the show, and more recently, The Satorialists coverage, my expectations were really high. I thought every brand displaying would be on a very high level. But the fact is, it was similar to any other tradeshow in the sense that as a buyer, you still had to sift through some bullshit to find the little diamonds in the rough. I think we would want to pick up like 6-8 new brands we discovered or met at Pitti. And that’s out of 100s and 100s. The layout of Pitti is also interesting. It’s split up into little houses. Most tradeshows are in some massive convention center. I did like this better. It’s less daunting. Since it’s not so nice to take pictures inside of people’s booths, I took some aerial footage of the people. Check it out.
フィレンツェは楽しい時間だけではありません。仕事をしに来ているのです。Pitti Uomoはメンズウェア界で最も影響力のある、古いショーのひとつです。これが僕にとって初めての参加でした。Stapleを展示するためでなく、Reed Spaceのためにブランドを発掘し、今後Stapleを出展させる可能性を探りに行きました。正直なところ少しがっかりしました。色々なファッション誌でこのショーの特集がくまれ、最近ではThe Satorialistsの特集などもあり、僕の期待値は大でした。出展されるブランド、全てがとてもハイレベルのものだと思っていました。でも、実際は他のトレードショーと同じく、バイヤーとして輝くダイアモンドを見つけるためにはどうでもいいものをかき分けなければいけませんでした。Pittiで出会い、見つけたブランドの中で６から８ブランドを気に入りました。それは何百ものブランドのなかからです。Pittiの設計は面白かったです。それぞれ小さな家に分かれていました。ほとんどのトレードショーでは巨大なコンベンションセンターで行われます。僕はPittiのほうが好きです。気が遠くなるほど大きくないので。ブースの中から写真を撮るのはよくないので、人々を高空写真で撮りました。チェックしてください。
They say the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Well on the other side of this massive wall is Pitti. Pitti is literally located inside of an amazing fortress. Another example of the amazing architecture of Firenze. 隣（フェンスの向こう側）の芝生は青いといいますが、この巨大な壁の向こう側はPittiです。Pittiはすばらしい要塞の中に位置しています。フィレンツェのすばらしい建築物の一つです。

lol, its a different swagger out there…white pants never left Italy. Sailing stripes are huge too…lol ey you want an experience walk around Tokyo and downtown hiroshima, culture shock! Still a dope experience; they better watch out for the pasta sauce.
