A few months ago, CBS Studios and Star Trek reached out to us to see if there was anything exciting we could do to help launch the release of their newest installment coming out this Friday (5/8/09). Recently I revealed the STPL x Airwalk collection that will launch this coming August. Well, I thought…Airwalk? Spacewalk? Star Trek? There could be something here…And if you check out the Star Trek “Shield” logo and the Airwalk “A” logo, it’s like they were born form the same mother.
So we all started talking. And then things moved VERY FAST. Like warp speed fast!
The “Terrain” model (The brown one I showed last week) is one my favorite styles from the collection. After seeing some advance clips from the upcoming film, I thought, what would The Terrain look like if it were finished just like a battle-torn version of The Enterprise? So we started the sample process and it looked really awesome! We dialed in all the details and I’m happy to announce the Star Trek x Airwalk x STPL sneaker will be dropping THIS weekend (5/8/09); just in time for the film release!
Only 130 pairs of this style have been produced and they will only be available at Reed Space NYC. (110 pairs for mens and 20 pairs for the kids, sized 1-4!) Here are some shots. Hope you like. Going where no man has gone….you know the rest.

そこから話し始めました。すると、話は急速に進み、まるでワープしたような速さでした！
「Terrain」モデル（先週お見せした茶色のもの）はこのコレクションの中で僕のお気に入りのスタイルです。公開される映画のクリップをいくつか見た後、The Terrainを戦い後のThe Enterpriseのような仕上げにしたらどうなるだろうと思いました。そして、サンプルを作り始めて、見てみると最高！ディテールもすべて入れて、今週末（5/8/09）に映画のリリースとタイミングを合わせて、Star Trek x Airwalk x STPLスニーカーがリリースされます！
このスタイルは130足しか作られてなく、ニューヨークのReed Spaceでしか手に入りません。（110足はメンズ、20速はキッズ、サイズ1−4！）写真をいくつか。気に入ってくれるとうれしいです。前人未到の地へ勇敢に進む。。。続きは分かりますよね。

Keep a lookout in the Fall for another design/release right around when the DVD comes out. The Fall Star Trek edition will be available at Payless Stores all over the country! Thanks for the shout out, we’re stoked to be working with Staple on this action. Many people don’t realize, but this isn’t our first foray into Sci Fi footwear…many of the boots you see on “The Matrix” are Airwalk as well.

I’ve never been a Trekkie but regardless this is an ingenious concept. Great work.
Jeff is a genius and a great partner, and the Airwalk tie-in has been nothing short of perfect. We’re pumped about the whole program, and having seen the movie in full last night, can’t wait to see the public reaction. Great job Jeff.
What you are doing for the culture is groundbreaking and cultivating. Making a nice looking shoe for Payless, that will retail for under $75 is definitely showing love in this recession.

These are seriously sick. The whole packaging is dope from the tongue label,to the back collar to the lace lock. Any pics of the box Jeff?? Is it just the normal Airwalk box?? Nevertheless its a sick collab.
Some notes:
- If you don’t live in NYC, fret not. Give Reed a call and we’ll accept phone orders and ship. (212-253-0588). Assuming they’re still in stock!
- The box is custom too, but we didn’t shoot it because we thought the shoes should be the main focus. Even the damn tissue paper is custom! We spared no expense.
- And yo, thanks for the praise I’m getting from everyone. I really appreciate those who are seeing what I’m trying to bring to the table. Sometimes, it’s not evident if you look at one aspect. But I think if you take the time to see the entire big picture, you might get a sense of what’s happenin’ here.
I think it’s necessary to sometimes test the boundaries of what this culture offers. And with that, it won’t always be the same ol’, same ol’. But again, I love hearing when people get it. Props to y’all for staying along for the ride. Peace.
hey jeff, will the shoes be in kid sizes too? i made the transition to the sub-culture from a bboy background. now that i am a bit older and have a son. i know that staple design targets a more grown up look/audience and which could include those with small families (including me) i was wondering if staple would later maybe target children also, just to keep them fresh with their dads haha.
It’s available for Kids too. Size 1-4. More stuff for the kids is definitely on the horizon!
