UNBREAKABLE RECORDS.


An interesting sports question: What sports record is the most unbreakable? The NY Times recently debated this question and suggestions that came in were all very interesting. I think when debating this question, you have to rule out factors in general rules, technological advancements and of course cheating/steroid use. If you rule ALL those out, then the list becomes easier to digest. Some are very impressive:
- Lance Armstrong’s seven CONSECUTIVE Tour de France wins.
- Wayne Gretzky’s 2,857 total points. Even if he NEVER SCORED a single goal, he would still be the NHL points leader solely because of his 1,963 assists.
- Glenn Hall’s 502 CONSECUTIVE games played as an NHL goalie. PRE-FACE MASK ERA. Wow.
- Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 pt game is a slim possibility, but his 50.4ppg average for an entire NBA season. Impossible.
Buy my favorite? Connie Mack’s (Phila Athletics) 3,948 LOSSES as a major league manager. With today’s big business of MLB, there’s no way a manager would last thing this long with such a miserable track record. (He also holds the record for winningest manager as well.)

僕の一番は？Connie Mack（Phila Athletics）のメジャーリーグマネージャーとしての3,948敗。今日のMLBのビッグビジネスなくしては、これほど酷い記録を引きずってマネージャーをし続けることは出来ないでしょう。(一番勝っているマネージャーとしての記録もあります。）
