As was reported a few months back, Staple and Airwalk have been working on a long-term partnership to build a tight capsule collection that will be sold exclusively at Payless stores nationwide. After months of designing and proto reviews, I’m happy to see the first samples in my hands. They are looking really good and I’m very happy with them. The whole idea behind this collaboration is to bring our design sensibilities to a different audience and the distribution that Payless covers (over 4000 stores globally). In addition, there’s one simple parameter: No shoe retails for more than $50 bucks. (And in this day and age, I figure we could all use the help.) But honestly, recession or no recession, I feel like it’s about time someone brings that street-skate-design mentality to the masses. This is one of about 8 styles that will encompass the entire STPL x AIRWALK Collection. I’ll keep posting some more photos as they come in. Look out for them in August!

Definitely will be on Payless.com. I think Payless has international locations as well though.
Great job jeff! This is great for the solid fans outside new york who don’t have the luxury/opportunity to visit reed space and own a piece of staple design’s craft. I’m glad that you are bringing your aesthetics to a different audience besides the streetwear society, the communication is at a whole differnt level now, in a subliminal way. The new consumers won’t know this shoe was designed by a “riot starter”.
Love the Hiking Boot Aestetic (red-rope laces on brown). They look gnarly in a good way. Good design like this should be MORE available at the mass-market level.

Memories of the highly coveted Enigma series from back in the day. This may be a dumb question, but are they for technically for skateboarding, or just street-skate-inspired? Regardless, great job!
I have been wanting to see an airwalk colab with anyone for the last few years,and when you were involved I was confident the product would be dope. And from the looks of it, so far it is. Now you should give L.A. Gear a call and get working with them on a street hiker colab (honestly one of my all time favorite shoes.)
