As the winter winds down, I am looking forward to getting one last ride in for the season. Colorado and most of the Rockies have been pretty dry all season. But lucky for us we arrived at Denver International in the midst of their biggest storm of the season. Man, getting a great snowboarding trip is so damn hard. You basically want to arrive at the tail end of a massive storm. After all, you still need to get your ass TO the mountain! We landed at almost the perfect time. The usual 2 hour drive from Denver Airport to Breckenridge took us 6 hours. At least we were able to land at the airport. The drive was treacherous and slow…but we made it through. At one point, the roads were so bad that we had to stop at a roadside diner and wait for the weather to clear. This left plenty of time for some useless gaming.
冬が終わりに差し掛かり、僕は今シーズン最後の滑りを楽しみにしていました。今回コロラドとロッキー山脈にはほとんど雪は降りませんでした。でも、幸運にも、僕達がデンバーインターナショナル空港に降り立った頃、今季最大級の吹雪でした。最強の吹雪の最後の方に到着したいものです。だって、自分も山に到着したいから。僕達はほぼ完璧なタイミングで到着しました。デンバー空港からBreckenridgeまでは通常2時間のところ6時間もかかりました。空港に着陸できただけでも良かったです。ドライブは長く危険でしたが。。。無事着きました。一時は道路の状態があまりにもひどかったので、天気が回復するまでレストランで非難しなくてはいけませんでした。時間が余っていたので、くだらないゲームのし放題でした。
This is a small family trip. I don’t have the opportunity to get together with family like this often enough. We’re staying at the Valdoro Mountain Lodge. A great hotel, that if anything, only slightly resembles the hotel from Stephen King’s The Shining. Anyone see any kids on a tricycle riding by?
これはちょっとした家族旅行です。こんな風に家族と一緒に過ごす機会があまりありません。僕達はValdoro Mountain Lodgeに泊まりました。凄くいいホテルです。ただ、少しだけステーブン・キングのThe Shiningに出てくるホテルに似ていました。誰か三輪車に乗った子供は見ませんでしたか？
