HOME IS WHERE THE HATRED IS.

Back home. New York Shitty. Why do I have this love-hate relationship with this city? It’s like the suffering of this city is what fuels it. I don’t know…I’m rambling. If you live in NY too, I think you know what I’m talking about. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Gil Scott Heron. Some of his songs just really resonate to things going on in my life right now. In particular check out: “The Prisoner”, “A Sign of the Ages”, “Did you Hear What They Said?”, and “Home Is Where The Hatred Is” (which was recently used as a sample on Kanye’s Album.)

You should check out this cat, Ezekiel Zagar. Roots/Reggae/Rock stuff, just finished his record… the whole band backing him up consists of Gil’s band. Larry MacDonald, Brian Jackson etc…good record to mellow out too, and lyrically very appropriate for the times we’re in…

check it out in my discography, if you want a copy I can drop it by staple on allen…

Are you sure it’s not just being back in America? Every time I’ve come back from Japan, this place looks so crappy. From the customs lines at the airport to the subways home, you lose all the cleanliness and politeness that you grew used to over the past few weeks. It’s rough!
